An email come through this morning announcing that Julia Bradbury has become the new President of the Camping and Caravanning Club, taking over from David Bellamy who is retiring from the role.
While I am sure this is a good choice — and that Julia will take her ‘duties’ seriously, I am beginning to wonder whether she is the only person these days who the public now associate with the great outdoors. You can’t seem to do anything these days without Julia being involved, or that Geordie bloke who used to present Blue Peter and who now seems to present every wildlife or nature programme that Julia doesn’t!
Is this reflection of the way of our media-dominated age? Or does it reflect a rap lack of imagination on behalf of some?
