Must Be This Way
Chat about backpacking, trekking and hiking
It seems to be the way things are going with footwear. I’m only using cheap More Mile Cheviots for running on the fells at the moment but the last pair wore out because the uppers disintegrated while the soles were still reasonable for a few more runs. First time that’s happened for me (in 25 years of fellrunning) but I’ve also noticed on the FRA forum that Inov8′s are starting to suffer similarly. Not so bad (but still shouldn;t happen) on £30 cheviots but when you pay £60 to £100 for Inov8s you expect better quality.
Exactly the same problem with my, very lightly used, pair.
File under ‘Terrible Terrocs’ – see http://mpaulm.blogspot.co.uk/2010/11/terrible-terroc-inov-8-innocent.html.
This seemed an ideal shoe for a bit of x-country jogging, but 2 pairs holed in the same place after not many miles. I keep my 3rd pair for occassional walking. I still like the fit.
And I do have two other pairs of Innov8s one for x-country running, and my rescue shoes from the last TGO challenge a pair of mudrocs.
Yeah the Terrocs dont last long do they… Its a real pity because they are GREAT walking shoes – comfy, grippy, light – from reviews I was expecting about 500M but they started to disinte
grate after about 200… btw my GTX version lasted about 3 months before springing a leak…
