Here you can see my Tilly Hat, in the state it came home from the Challenge. It is a bit battered these days, the elements having taken their toll. I think ultra violet light has knocked it about quite hard.
Look carefully at the top of the hat — front centre left — and you’ll see that a hole is appearing.
Surely I’ll soon qualify for a free replacement. the store I bought it from has long closed. Does anyone know the procedure for claiming against the lifetime guarantee?

Gosh!! It looks like an elephant’s eaten it!

You do well to remember that there is a life time guarantee. I remember looking at something only this week and noticing that it too had a lifetime guarantee then thinking “that’s really good”, the problem is that right now I can’t for the life of me remember what it was!
Correct, George. Well spotted, and I see that Andy actually commented on that posting. Maybe the UV has destroyed his brain cells as well as the hat.
(I waited until mine were just a bit more worn out than yours, Andy, before seeking replacements.)
For the guarantee in the UK, I’d start here:

I listened to a team podcast on snow camping with five people from different parts of the US. Every one of them had a Tilley hat. That was the only common gear.
I have a “Nylantium” Tilley, the one with the biggest brim. Holding up fine, so far.
Martin- you know how true that is – the bit about the brain cells that is
