It is wonderful to see the sun and the snow, here it is just snow. I never realised there was so much walking in the Church Stretton area, I only ever knew it for its welsh ponies.

Interested to hear you wore Terrocs. I wear mine 3 seasons but cant stand freezing cold wet feet in winter. How do you cope ?

  4. andy says:

It was sunny and the snow not too deep – often wear them in similar conditions!

If you had done a tell me where this is competition. I would have said Pennines. Cant believe how good those hills are. I Googled them and it is very historic with so much history. I would be very happy if that was on my doorstep.

    Martin,

The high hills inhabit a relatively small area but the wider area is stunning. As you move West three ridges tell you that you are moving into Wales, Wenlock Edge, The Long Mynd and its accompanying hills, and the Stipperstone Ridge. An enterprising walker can put these together for a number of wonderful walking combinations — you often don’t see another soul.

Shropshire County Council call these ‘the Secret Hills’ !
