Funnily enough Paul that is my preferred route at the moment. My other main option will have Sloman and the Good Lordship going the same way and I’m not sure I’m up to it (the alcohol that is !!!)

Andy you may like to consider going east from the fords of Avon and take in Beinn a’ Bhuird from the north east (Ben Avon is also an option if you have the energy and time!). You could then head down to Braemar via Linn of Quoich and take a look at the punch bowl. You could also head out via Invercauld depending on your next target.

Then on Friday we can check out the space that used to house Bynack Stables (TBVITW says it was terribly haunted…) and go up to Ben Macdui via Loch Avon (seeking out the Shelter Stone on the way, of course) and camp either there (weather and terrain permitting, though I do know it has been done) or at Loch Etchachan. Bimble down to Braemar on Saturday *g*
