I wish I could feel sorry for you Andy, but it’s just not possible. In Stockholm we have -12C and 20cm of snow. Lots of people are out crosscountry skiing in the city and ice skating on the frozen lakes. The cold bites you in the nose when there´s a bit of wind.
Anyway, I really enjoyed Brazil when I was there. There shoúld be plenty of opportunities for nice hiking too. A trop in the jungle is always nice. Don’t forget to drink at least two freshly squeezed glasses of fruit juice every day. In my memory this is the best juice you can get anywhere in the world.
I agree about the juice — and I am doing that. But there will be precious little time for hiking this trip! Maybe next time.
