Maybe there are a few of you reading this, who have entered the TGO Challenge for the first time. Actually, I’m sure there are as I look at my blog access stats.
I’ve said this before, but the hardest thing about the Challenge is deciding where to start from.
For my first Challenge I picked Mallaig simply because I’d always wanted to travel the train route. AT the end of Challenge 1 I asked a number of people which had been their favourite start. A number said Strathcarron and so Starthcarron it was.
Planning Challenge 3 is a lot more difficult. I suspect I shall pick a name that sounds nice, say, Applecross or Torridon. I then guess I’ll have to study the routes out to see which ones are quiet, high and lonely!
Looking at the maps there are too many options! I think I’ll go for one of the less popular start points but that doesn’t narrow it down too much.
Acharacle, Lochailort, Arisaig, Glenelg, Dornie, Strathcarron, Plockton and Torridon all seem possibilities.
Decisions, decisions. My head already hurts with the anticipation.
Torridon! Torridon!! Rah, Rah, Rah!!!
