Photo Project: Composition – Colour
Older readers will remember Paul Simon. One of his first solo hits was ‘Kodachrome’ which celebrated the colour film of that name.
There was nothing quite like the vivid colours of a transparency film, until digital!
Often colour itself makes a photograph. So, when you’re out taking shots β look for the colour.

The colour range may be limited here, but it is the colour that makes this shot for me. I could look at this for hours. Bournemouth seascape after storm.
Walking on the drab Southwark under tow of the Thames I came across these roses, discarded on the grey mud. Immediately I knew I wanted to capture the roses. The roses were picked out in Photoshop and the colour saturated a little.
Colour can often be unexpected!

This Suffolk beach shot appeals not only because of the strong lines, but primarily because of the colour.
