Wild Camping: Next Steps II

Neil Cuthbert raises the thorny question of opposition, and who might be influential in a negative way. His first thoughts turn to the Chief Prison Officer’s Association :-)

Well, there are many, many, people who would have legitimate grounds to worry or object to such a proposal. Just start counting. It doesn’t take long to get up to a big number. Hence the need for a properly thought out campaign.

Bearded Gi is ‘up for it’. Good but I’m being careful about not stomping in here. Much of the work for this has been done by others, Darren obviously, but most notably John Hee. Let’s see how they respond.

Well, if you feel that way, Andy, you can count me out. I’ve obviously done nothing for the campaign, apart from stomp.

  2. There’s a good deal of information in the government’s Marine Bill. Nice of hem to have commissioned surveys about the financial benefits to local communities and financial benefits to health. Of course, that’s for the coastal access, but most figures would be same for inland, I’d guess.

I note a fresh petition for Wales has been started as per notice here.
