Well, they're still breaking things :-)

Even as a customer there was a lovely pioneering feel about it. Find memories. Though I was CIX person as well and I really miss that.

Sucked up and spat out by Thus, alas.

There was such energy in that company back then - they'd take on undergrads and try out daft things. I think it was in Finchley where they bought up an old bank across the road from them and filled it with modems - at 6pm the room warmed and the sound of relays was intense! Then there was this large server they bought, fitted on the first floor.... it was too heavy and fell through!

Ah, but there's no *fun* left in it all these days.....

Demon certainly are not the same old company. I first had a demon account in the very early days when Cliff was trying to get his first 100 takers. I'm not sure I was in the first 100 but I wasn't far behind.

I can't describe how bad they've been over this last period. If you're lucky you can get a good support person on the phone in the middle of the night. But emails go un-answered and nobody picks the phone up during the day.

I'm not sure what happened to them - but it must have been pretty big.

Andy,

If it is of any help, I have still got access (must have saved them locally) to your old RSS feed with entries dated 23/07 to 06/08 incl if you wanted them sent on.

Andy,

Didn't realise your site was down.... the RSS feed did go a bit quiet I have to say.

As a manager of an ISP area I am amazed at the way you lost your data with Demon. They are clearly not the same company I worked with all those years ago.

Have you tried combing Google for cached versions of your old pages? Just a thought.

Roman,

The archive is looking a little tricky, The problem with it is that my last back-up included some corrupt data I think - but I don't know exactly where.

Good news about the BigSky - interested in how it coped.
