Looking Wider Than Opinion Polls

By Andy | January 16, 2008

The mainstream media is still fascinated by way in which the opinion polls got the result of the New Hampshire Primary so wrong. In looking to gauge public interest how can we use new media monitoring methods to give us a rounder picture?

Jeff Jarvis is an ex-Newspaper Editor based in New York who now teaches journalism. But Jeff is a guru of all things new media (as well as writing a bi-weekly column in Media Guardian).

Jeff is preparing his column for next week’s Guardian which he wants to be on this topic. He’s mapped-out some ideas - with pointers to some early analysis - on his blog; he would like some feedback.

Election fanatics and obsessives (yes I know you’re reading this) will find this fascinating!
